COVID-19 Class Changes

PLEASE BE PATIENT AND UNDERSTANDING DURING THIS UNPRECEDENTED TIME THAT WE NOW ALL FIND OURSELVES IN, GOD WILLING, IT WON'T BE FOR EVER!

Please note the following changes to classes.

Minimum age of juniors will now be 8 years of age, current members that are 7 years of age this year, 2020, can continue training.

Please note that high grade juniors that are 14 years of age and over, will now be required to train in the adult class until further notice, this will help with social distancing in the high grade class.

Don't turn up too early for training, or if you do, please wait outside, no waiting in reception, corridors or changing rooms.

Turn up in your Dobok.

PLEASE wear or bring with you appropriate footwear for outdoor training, we will sometimes be training outside, weather permitting.

Every person entering the building will have their temperature checked, if its 37:8 C or above, then they will not be permitted inside the building.
NO EXCEPTIONS

ENTRY - From the front doors at reception as normal.

EXIT - From the double fire doors, bottom left of dojang.

Everyone, wash your hands upon arrival in the changing rooms, please use some common sense when in the changing rooms, use the space available to distance from each other if waiting to use the facilities, and sanitize before entering the dojang, this must be repeated every time you leave and re-enter the dojang, no exceptions.

PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN TOWEL FOR HAND WASHING ETC

There is a sanitizer station in reception, but please bring your own just in case.

All instructors and coaches must wear a face mask or shield, no exceptions.

Every student must refrain from ANY CONTACT with any other person whilst attending classes, 2 metre distancing must be adhered to at all times, students are encouraged to wear face coverings if they wish, but this is not compulsory.

Bring your own drinks.

Please do not bring any unnecessary equipment or non essentials into the dojang, and please put mobiles on silent, its only for a short while, you'll live!!

No spectators, parents and guardians can either wait in cars or outside the building - no exceptions unless special support is a necessity.

Parents and guardians, please be there to meet your child outside the dojang on time, sessions will never be cut short without giving you prior notice so please be there on time!

Due to the restrictions we now all face, class contents will now not include the following elements previously included:
Sparring
Pad work
Mat work
Hands on hosinsul (self defence)
Any practice or activity that compromises the 2 metre distancing rule.
We all have to use common sense, enjoy what we do and protect ourselves and every one around us.

PLEASE NOTE

BEFORE TRAINING

IN THE PREVIOUS 14 DAYS, HAVE YOU HAD ANY COVID-19 SYMPTOMS?

BEEN IN CONTACT WITH ANY CONFIRMED/SUSPECTED COVID-19 CASE?

TRAVELED INTERNATIONALLY?

IF THE ANSWER TO ANY QUESTION IS YES, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND CLASS AND GO HOME.

September grading: hopefully we will be in a position to hold a grading in September, but this will be dependent on government guidelines and where you all are with your progress, so, if grading sounds good, then get on with practicing those patterns and get exercising! Unfortunately, the gradings will have the same restrictions imposed upon them as do the normal classes, but don't you worry, I'll make sure that you make up for it in other ways!!

Black Belt / Dan Promotion Gradings
Until things return to "normal", there will be no black belt or Dan grade promotion gradings. The grading to black belt, and subsequent Dan grade progression, junior or senior, in my opinion, MUST include the essential elements that, at the moment, we cannot train for, or substitute for, in any other way. This is a decision that I alone have decided upon and taken very seriously, but after much sole searching, its the only way that I can honestly keep the awarding of a black belt, worthy and fair. I know that this will disappoint some of you, but remember that part of being a black belt is to have patience and to show an indomitable spirit!

So there it is! looking forward to seeing you all again in August, remember to keep safe always,
Master Fowler.
